As you know the Primary 1 children have been learning about food this term. To help this theme come to life and seem more purposeful the Primary 1 and 2/3 children were taken on a trip to Asda. Greeted by our lovely guide Matthew we were taken on a tour of the supermarket and given access to some special areas including the bakery and the checkout desk. The children had a wonderful time and have documented their trip through photos they took on the school ipads.
Continuing on with our food theme, the children have been exploring the work of Guiseppe Arcimboldo. Giuseppe Arcimboldo was an Italian painter best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of objects such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, and books. The children have used a variety of two and three dimensional materials to create their own Giuseppe portraits. You can see for yourself the results are amazing!
This term the Primary 1 children have been learning about food. Most recently we have been exploring fruit and vegetables from other countries. In class the children had the opportunity to investigate these unusual foods. We used our senses to examine their smell, look, taste and touch.
A sea of colour arrived to school today as pupils and staff dressed as their favourite characters from a book.
We had a special Assembly to show the vast array of characters to the rest of the school.
See how many characters you can identify!
