This week we have been looking at symmetry, we have been trying to find symmetrical items within our room.
We have also been looking at the lines of symmetry in shapes.
On Thursday we made our very own symmetrical cards. We first folded the page in half then put blobs of paint in a pattern. When we folded the other half of the page over we pressed it down and held it for 10 seconds. Have a look at our finished cards.
Lyric theatre visit - lots of fun watching the show - a great way to learn about recycling through drama ⭐️
Most of the boys and girls have now received a certificate for zipping up their coat independently. Super work boys and girls! Now your grownup won’t have to help you to do this job. 👍👍

We had so much fun in class today talking about and describing our favourite book characters. Thank you for making so much effort to dress up and to bring in your favourite books to read together. I am so proud of the Primary 3 girls and boys who had the confidence to read their books to the rest of their class- what a marvellous achievement. I wonder if we will have any budding authors or illustrators of the future in our class? All things are possible with hard work and determination.
Have a look at our fantastic World Book Day door displays 📚
Today we all brought in our favourite books from home. Mrs Preston gave us 10 minutes to look through our books and share them with our friends. We loved swapping and reading each other’s books for a short time too. Spending time reading and looking at books is so important and such a fun thing to do. 📚
Today was a really fun day as we all came dressed as our favourite book character or wearing our pyjamas. I wonder can you guess who is dressed up as what character? 🤔
What a fantastic effort that was made by our children, staff and parents today for World Book Day. The children were allowed to wear pyjamas or a book character costume and the effort put in was amazing.
Well done to each of you. 😁
Our class have been taking part in mind explorers each week. The children have been learning some breathing techniques using a breathing ball, when the ball pens we take a deep breath in and then closing the ball we breathe out. Using a mirror the children look at their reflection, give themselves a big smile and express something they are thankful for. Lots of the children are thankful for their family members, pets and friends in school. It has been a lovely time for the children to be still and to have a brain break from their busy schedule in school each week. Why not ask your child about the breathing ball, I’m sure they will have lots to tell you!
