Year 1/2 have been very busy learning about the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They had great fun using finger paints to design a colourful Queen’s head. The boys and girls were busy writing diamanté/diamond poems. A diamante poem, or diamond poem, is a style of poetry that is made up of seven lines. The text forms the shape of a diamond. Have a look at the finished masterpieces 👑
Thank you so much to everyone who supported our Fun Day. Over the past few weeks children have been bringing in bottles and items for the rainbow stall. We would also like to thank Spar in Artigarvan for their contribution to the bottle stall, the creamery for providing treats for break, Ali’s Steakhouse for the burgers, Mr Whippy for the ice-cream and to Mark Hetherington for his help getting the Full Swing vans up onto our pitch!!! Artigarvan definitely has community spirit when help is needed and we appreciate it all so much. We sent out a text to ask for any bakers to help out with the tea/coffee stand and we were overwhelmed by the response-thank you so much to everyone who donated tray bakes and buns. It was lovely to see all our families back at school and the children all having fun. We will update you of the final total raised in the coming days!!! Thank you once again for your continued support ☺️

This week we had our final week of Families Connect. We are very pleased with the turn out and would like to thank each parent for their participation in the 8 week programme. We really hope you enjoyed it and have gained some strategies to use with your child.
We had lots of discussions each week and as parents ourselves, (Mrs Harper and Mrs Preston) we were able to contribute and relate very much the rewarding job of parenting. We learned lots from each other and we hope that you continue to play the games and use the strategies that we discussed.
Thank you for your support and commitment each week.
