On Wednesday we were learning about St Patrick. Afterwards we completed some art work. First we cut out a template of a shamrock. ☘️ We then held it in place on another page and used our fingers to dab the paint around the outline of the shamrock. When we removed the template it showed the outline of the shamrock. Have a look at our super art work.
An invitation for past pupils and former staff to call into school for a browse around school, a time to reminisce, meet the staff and enjoy a cup of tea...
Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our Ukraine Appeal last week. We were able to donate £410 to help the people of Ukraine through Colin Tinsleys GoFundMe page. You may have seen Colin on the BBC news or you can check out his Go Fund Me Page “Helping Ukrainians taking refuge in Poland” to see the amazing work he is doing for the people of Ukraine.
As our world book week author was Julia Donaldson, each child brought in a wooden spoon to transform into their favourite Julia Donaldson character. The children chose their characters, painted the spoon and then added details once it was dry. We had great fun retelling our stories using the spoons, don’t they look great?
As part of our topic ‘In the toy box’, Year 1 & 2 enjoyed making their own sock puppets this week. Mrs Kane helped with the hot glue gun and the children chose their materials and where each item would go. We can’t wait to use them next week to tell stories!
On Monday, Kathleen and Jo Jingles came to Nursery. We had fun singing lots of familiar songs and it linked very well to our new topic, Nursery Rhyme Time. We can’t wait for the next session next Monday.

This week we have been looking at symmetry, we have been trying to find symmetrical items within our room.
We have also been looking at the lines of symmetry in shapes.
On Thursday we made our very own symmetrical cards. We first folded the page in half then put blobs of paint in a pattern. When we folded the other half of the page over we pressed it down and held it for 10 seconds. Have a look at our finished cards.
