Today we had our first session of Families Connect with some of our year 1 parents. This week’s theme was play and we talked about the importance of play and the benefits that it has for our children. We discussed how it is important to try and make time to play with our children even if it is only a 10min slot. Play is the most crucial part of a young child’s early development. Well done to all of our families who took part today and we look forward to meeting again next week to talk about our feelings.
Lots of fun at Afterschools Club making and tossing pancakes 🥞
The boys and girls in Year 3/4 had great fun on Pancake Tuesday making pancakes and deciding what toppings to choose. They had to write instructions on how to make pancakes…Can you remember all the steps involved to making tasty pancakes??? 🥞
We enjoyed delicious pancakes in class yesterday! Mrs Kane was our chef, we waited patiently for them to cook in the pan, they smelt so good! To make our ‘Gruffalo’ pancakes we added blueberries for the prickles, orange segment for the eyes and a juicy raspberry for the nose. Thankfully they weren’t poisonous as the story suggests! Unfortunately by the time Mrs Kane got it all served out there weren’t many pancakes left to photograph- we-ll take it as a sign that they were really enjoyable! 😂 Did you make pancakes at home?
As part of our world book week activities our class got to enjoy a fabulous session from Debutots. We heard a fairytale mash-up story which taught us all about saying please and than you. The children took part through using actions to retell the story and playing musical statues and acting out parts of the story. at the end of the story the characters all had a party, we joined in by having a bubble party!
We all had a go at trying to toss and catch a pancake in the pan. It was such good fun and we have some very clever boys and girls who were able to throw it up and catch it.
Well done everyone 😁
Today we had so much fun making and eating pancakes. We have some children with allergies in our class so we used a vegan recipe that has no eggs and we used oat milk. The children thought the pancakes were really tasty. They were allowed to have honey, syrup, jam or butter on top.
What a super morning and even Mrs Preston and Judith enjoyed a pancake too. 🥞🥞
