Our Year 3,4,5 and 6’s headed off to Letterkenny on Friday for their school trip. When we arrived, we were greeted by Emma who we had met before in school, when she was carrying out workshops for Action Mental Health. We had our lunch, then the real fun started! We listened to music, got our faces painted, got our hair braided and took part in arts and crafts activities.
Thank you to Emma for the invite we all had a great time! :)
On Thursday 10 boys and girls headed off to Bready Cricket Club to participate in the regional final for cricket.
Artigarvan was placed in group A where they would play three games before lunch. In our group we had Millburn PS, Comber Claudy PS and Donemana PS.
We won all three games and headed into lunch sitting pretty on top of the group but also with the most runs out of all the teams participating, 939 runs in three games 🙀🙀.
After lunch we took on Ebrington PS in the semi final, after batting first we set a competitive score. We bowled and fielded extremely well to earn us a win and a place in the final.
In the final we took on Newbuildings PS. After a strong bowling and fielding performance we were set 240 runs to win. After a few wickets the match became very close, that was before Roy came in and smashed 5 six’s off the second last over and repeated the same feat twice more in the final over to bring the cup home to Artigarvan.
We would like to say a big thank you to David and his team from the NWCU for a fantastic event.
We are the champions!!!

The ‘Magnificent 7s’ in-paper feature will appear in this week’s Strabane Chronicle on Thursday 23rd June.
This photographic feature includes a class photograph of the departing Primary 7’s.
During the month of June we have started our transition programme for the nursery children who are moving into P1 in our school in September. The boys and girls have been for a few visits to experience the different sections of a typical day in P1. This includes, morning break, outside play in the playground and for a school dinner.
They have coped exceptionally well with all of these transitions and we are very proud of them. Here are a few photos of them having a great time in P1 with Mr Henderson and Anne. 😁
Today was a very exciting day in Nursery! We walked down to Artigarvan play park for some fun and a picnic. Mrs Harper brought us down an iced lolly and we were so glad as it was quite warm. Thankfully the weather stayed dry and the boys and girls had so much fun. Sometimes the simple things in life are by far the best!!😁😁
The children were so well behaved and most importantly had the best morning together having fun! ⭐️⭐️
A huge well done to all our boys and girls who graduated from nursery today, what a special morning celebrating with you all 👩🎓
Everyone at Artigarvan is delighted with the newest addition to the Artigarvan family. One of our very talented parents made this bear and gifted it to our school-we just love it!! Thank you so much to Kiara’s mum for our special bear 🐻
