Well done to all our highland dancers in school who received medals and trophies at the weekend. A few of the girls and boys brought their awards in to assembly and told us all about their dance competition and exam awards. Congratulations everyone involved!
Well done to all our swimmers in Years 6 and 7. Everyone has worked so hard over the past 10 weeks. Keep up the hard work and keep swimming. We can’t wait to see your awards in the new year.
This week we have been looking at the different weights of objects within our classroom.
We used weighing scales to measure the weight of each item.
Everyone in the room had a good to estimate of how many cubes it would take for the scales to balance.
Look at all the busy boys and girls 😀
All of the year 6’s enjoyed their first session of shared education at Strabane Academy on Monday. The boys and girls all participated in rugby alongside Bready and Cloughcor PS. We can’t wait for our next session.
The boys and girls have all been enjoying ‘Charlotte’s Web’ in class. We all thought of different food items for Wilbur the pig and used adjectives to describe these. Some children described them in a very appealing way and some sounded completely revolting! We then designed and created a menu for Wilbur using Microsoft Word. The boys and girls learnt how to insert a border, use bullet points and insert a picture. Check out some of the amazing menus. What would you choose to eat? 🤭
Mrs McClelland’s class finished their ten week block of swimming lessons in Riversadale Leisure Centre yesterday.
Today the boys and girls have received their certificates to celebrate how far each child can swim.
This class will have a second block of swimming lessons later in the school year. We can’t wait to see how much you will improve over these lessons.

The 14th to 18th November 2022 is anti-bullying week in school and this year the theme is 'Reach Out'
Anti-Bullying Week will remind everyone whether it’s in school, at home, in the community or online, let’s reach out and show each other the support we need.
Bullying affects millions of lives and can leave us feeling hopeless. But it doesn’t have to be this way. If we challenge it, we can change it. And it starts by reaching out.
Whether it’s in school, at home, in the community or online, let’s reach out and show each other the support we need. Reach out to someone you trust if you need to talk. Reach out to someone you know is being bullied. Reach out and consider a new approach.
And it doesn’t stop with young people. From teachers to parents and influencers to politicians, we all have a responsibility to help each other reach out. Together, let’s be the change we want to see. Reflect on our own behaviour, set positive examples and create kinder communities.
It takes courage, but it can change lives. So, this Anti-Bullying Week, let’s come together and reach out to stop bullying.
Today the boys and girls in school and nursery wore their odd socks in support of anti bullying week 2022!
The SEND Transformation Programme Reference Group (PRG), made up of parent advocacy groups
and the wider education and health bodies, and community and voluntary organisations, will
facilitate the following engagement sessions:
Online information session 1: Thursday 24th November 2022: 8-9:30: https://bit.ly/3Ez4Z5k
Online information session 2: Thursday 1st December, 2022: 7pm-8:30pm: https://bit.ly/3tDkenz
These upcoming information events provide an opportunity for parents and carers to learn more
about the programme and to meet PRG representatives. We want to make sure all voices are heard,
so that we can be sure we are taking the right steps to deliver the right support at the right time,
for all our children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Thank you so much to all our families who supported the shoe box appeal this year! Mrs Harper has her car packed with 46 shoe boxes to drop off this evening with the Samaritans Purse volunteers. You will all bring a smile to a little child’s face this Christmas-thank you so much 🎄
Please share attached flyer with anyone you may know who has a child starting Nursery or P1 in September 😊
