As it is World Book Day tomorrow we have had different book related activities happening in school this week. Today we mixed up all our classes and the older pupils read books to our younger pupils. This was such a lovely little time for pupils of all ages in our school.
We are so impressed with our Year 6 and Year 7 pupils as they created beautiful bird boxes today with Damien and David from F.R.O.G outdoor educators. Each child will get to take home the bird box that they made and we also have a few to put up around school. The boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
Our student council memebrs had a short meeting with Mr Campbell at the start of this term, we talked about how we could improve our lives at school and talked about different treats that we could have every Friday.
This week we have had a brilliant treat of hot chocolate and scones. They were so GOOD.
We want to thank Cherry and Samantha for these lovely treats.
Each week Mrs Harper will choose a pupil who has shown kindness throughout the week at school to receive her special kindess award. We have so many kind pupils in Artigarvan Primary School Mrs Harper may need to have lots of certificates!! This week the award goes to Mya and Calvin. Well done and keep being kind...it doesn't go unnoticed.
Well done to our sporting superstars outside of school:
Olivia received player of the week with Sion Swifts Football Club for her outstanding efforts at football.
The girls who attend Euphoria Allstar Cheerleading attended a competition in Antrim and brought home lots of medals and trophies.
We are so proud of all our children at Artigarvan Primary School and like to share their successes outside of school as well as in school. Keep up the hard work everyone!
Year 5 had a fun trip to Gortin on Wednesday for part of our Shared Education. We went along with Donemana PS and St Michaels PS. We participated in scavenger hunt activities, learnt about the different types of trees in the forest and fun facts about squirrels. We found things from the forest and made art work from the items. Our group spelt out the message, "Don't litter". We all had so much fun in the play park before coming back to school.
P1/2 had lots of fun today making pancakes with Mr Henderson and Anne. Have a look at our photographs to see how they turned out.
We read the story ‘Rabbit’s Pancake Picnic’ talked about how to make pancakes. The also completed a sequence activity recalling the method!
On Friday 10th February, to mark the end of Children’s Mental Health Week 2023 and Valentine’s Day being just a few days away everyone at Artigarvan was sharing the love!!!
❤️ Children could come to school wearing something red/pink.
❤️ Children could post Valentine’s cards in our special post box to be delivered around the classes.
❤️ We had a special board to pin on your heart of what love means to you.
❤️ We had sweet treats delivered to our classrooms
❤️ Our kitchen staff made beautiful heart shaped biscuits for dessert.
We had a great day sharing the love around school and nursery ❤️❤️
Well done to our Year 7 pupils who came a very impressive third place in the Road Safety Quiz at the Guildhall. There were 9 other teams in their heat. They were delighted to receive a beautiful medal and some road safety goodies.
