Some of our Year 4-7’s travelled to Holy Cross College for the St Mary’s Cross Country event. They had lots of fun and brought home some medals also! Thank you to St Mary’s for organising.
For Children's Mental Health week we all participated in an online art lesson with Sinead McDermott from the art and design factory. Sinead’s aim was to reduce anxiety and stress through art and all the boys and girls really enjoyed it!
Mrs McClelland has been absolutely blown away with the talent in her class this week. The boys and girls were set a topic homework where they had to think of a local place that is special to them and create it from scrap materials. This ties in well with our topic ‘Being and Belonging’. The children then showed off their projects to the class and shared why their place was special to them.
Well done boys and girls!
Some children from Year 6 and Year 7 travelled to Foyle College for a hockey blitz. Artigarvan teams had lots of fun and won or drew every game.
Today we participated in lots of fun activities all about internet safety. Firstly, we worked in groups to rank certain situation and scenarios in order from highest to lowest risk to children, most seen on the internet to least seen and most annoying to least annoying. We then talked about how our bodies feel if we experience any of those situations and who we can talk to. In groups we each drew a person and thought of adjectives of how they would feel.
Finally, we created our own listening superheroes. We talked about what makes a good listener and played role play games on how to listen.

to attend our next Autism Social Café with local support groups, information stalls and short informal talks/workshops.

Time: 10am- 12noon approx.
Venue: Melvin Sports Complex, Melvin Rd, Strabane BT82 9PP
This event is in partnership with statutory services and community and voluntary organisations who can support families on their autism journey.
Our aim is to bring together parents, carers and organisations, to provide support and information on services available. We are hoping that parents and carers will help us shape our plans for future events across the WHSCT, provide feedback, ideas and suggestions. Input from parents and carers will be extremely valuable in the co-design of our future Social Café’s.
