Our topic until Christmas is called Let's Sparkle. We will begin by looking at night and day, changes in our weather and where light comes from. The children will be learning about stars and comparing different colours of stars. They will be thinking about why stars cannot be seen during the day and why some stars look bigger than others. We have lots of play based learning opportunities planned for the children, we can't wait to see where our learning will take us. Stay tuned for some pictures and videos of our learning so far.

On Tuesday 7th November the year 6/7 class spent the afternoon having an Izak 9 challenge.

Izak 9 creates a fun, dynamic and highly interactive shared learning environment where all children can excel in their learning of mathematics in Schools. Team work and learning from each other is also a big part of this.

Kyle Year 7 - "I like using Izak 9 because its fun and you learn at the same time"

Lauren Year 6 - "Its a very fun and interesting way to learn maths"

The children were treated to a spook-tacular display from the highland dancers in this morning's assembly.

All the children in Y5/6 looked great in their costumes!

We had fun in class decorating pumpkins and we even had a special visitor during Golden Time.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun-filled half term break.

Well done to the Y5 children who completed their road safety training programme this week. The final session of the programme was a walk around the village, demonstrating what they had been learning about hazards, following road signs and using the Green Cross Code.

Our road safety assessor, Gareth, was impressed with all the children and they received a certificate and flashing reflector for their efforts.

Great work staying safe on the road Y5!
