Today was a super exciting day as we welcomed back the whole school for the first time since Christmas!
Year 5/6 made the most of the dry weather and played games outside, it was so much fun!
It was really lovely to have everyone together again and we can’t wait to welcome the rest of our class back next week. All the boys and girls have settled back in so well and I am so proud of them all.
Some overheard quotes of the day π:
“I can’t wait to come to school again tomorrow!”
”I can’t choose my favourite part of today”
”it’s been a long 8 months” π
After a very miserable week of weather there were a lot of nervous people sending in their steps this week. We were thinking that we wouldn’t have enough to make our million. We were pleasantly surprised when our total steps added to 1,346,886!!! Well done everyone π

Here is a little snapshot of our outdoor play session on Monday. :)
Today the weather had picked up so we finally got outside to play. The children were very excited and we had a wonderful outdoor session with lots of learning opportunities. Enjoy browsing through our photos.
Year 2/3 were delighted with their treat on Friday when the ice cream van arrived. The boys and girls had a brilliant first week back and this little treat was so well deserved. Have a look at all the smiles π
We have been talking about the signs of Spring and reading books to find out what we need to look out for. Carrie told us all about the daffodils in her garden and we have learned that they grow from a bulb, which the children thought looks a bit like an onion!
Mrs Kane brought daffodils but they didn’t look very nice to begin with. A few days later and after adding some water to the stems they had opened up, a bright yellow colour appeared and a beautiful sweet scent! Brett brought his own sunny daffodil to school, he thought it best to add it to our collection!
During play we have been busy making spring items, using junk and craft materials the children have made some fantastic pieces. Take a look at what we’ve made so far but do check back for an update soon!
This week we welcomed back our children into the classroom and such fun we had. The children settled back in so quickly, remembering routines and adapting to life back with their friends. We are so proud of the fantastic week they had, so we thought they deserved a little treat today.
We had a visit from our local ice-cream man, Mr Whippy, which brought a smile to everyone's face on a Friday morning. Big smiles all round!!
Thank you Mr Whippy
Today at school we had a surprise visit from the ice-cream van. π¦ This was a special treat for our children as they have been working so hard during their first week back at school.
The children were chanting “best day ever!” as they received their treat, albeit in the pouring rain! βοΈ
Anne and I have had such an enjoyable week with these amazing children! They have had a very strange start to Primary school but we endeavour to make the next term the most enjoyable yet! π

Well done everyone-we will put another £5 each in our donation box. Thank you also to our families who have sent in donations for Cancer Focus NI, it is greatly appreciated.
