Look at the excitement on those little faces!
Last week we started our new class novel - David Williams ‘Awful Auntie’. Everyone is really enjoying it so far and we just can’t wait to find out what the family mystery is.
A big shoutout to Gary and the team at CORE NI for their fantastic P.E. videos. The children had so much fun with their animal workout 🦁 Can you guess what animals we were?
For the first time this school year, Y1/2 got to go to the dinner hall to eat their lunch! 🍽
This was the Y1’s very first time sitting up at the big yellow tables ⭐️
It was such good fun - we cannot wait to go back down next week as well 😀
All of the boys and girls have had a lovely day for world kindness day today.
Our anti-bullying ambassadors created little baskets with random acts of kindness for every class. Every child chose one and had to carry out their act at some point throughout the day. Some children helped the teacher, gave compliments and some drew pictures or wrote notes for their teachers and classroom assistants.
We also created lovely kindness posters. Please check out some of the photos. They are just so beautiful!
Last week our Anti-bullying ambassadors had a meeting to discuss what we could do for World Kindness day. We decided it would be nice to send thank you letters and some pictures to Altnagelvin. We thought with all their hard work during this world wide pandemic they would like a little pick me up. We posted them on Tuesday and got a lovely phone call on Thursday to thank us and to tell us how much they meant to all the staff.
Today we had such a lovely surprise when a lady called Nicola who is a theatre nurse came to our school to thank us in person ! She even brought us all treats! What a lovely gesture :)
We are just so delighted that our letters brought a smile to someone’s face.
Remember in a world where you can be anything - BE KIND!
The children in Y1/2 created beautiful poppy illustrations to commemorate Remembrance Day. They used bottle lids, sponges and paint to create a beautiful field of poppies.
They also enjoyed listening to the story ‘Anzac Ted’ and designing their own medals of honour for their own hero’s.
Carrie even made her own poppy!
