Today we had visitors from Strabane Academy. Emma and Molly helped us learn some new words in Spanish. We were able to ask, “what is your name?” And reply “my name is”. We also learned some colours in Spanish.
Gracias girls and Strabane Academy for a fantastic lesson.
This week the boys and girls in our class have been working hard in Numeracy. We have been learning about partitioning. We have been using base 10 equipment to partition the numbers into tens and units.
Today our Year 3 & 4 pupils went to Castlerock for their end of year school trip. All 41 children headed off by bus from school this morning and caught the 9.38am train in Londonderry. We arrived in Castlerock and went to a church hall to leave off our belongings and have our snack.
With our waterproof clothing, buckets and spades we headed down to the beach for some fun! We even managed to see a train passing the crossing and have a play in the park before coming home!
And wow, what fun we had!!!! The children were a credit to the school the whole day and showed excellent behaviour.
Every single child had so much fun and I think there will be a few sandy ears tonight!
You all did us proud today, well done boys and girls! 👏 There might be a few tired children today!
Well done to all the Year 3 and Year 4 pupils who completed the 6 week paired reading programme last term. Today they were given their certificates to celebrate their achievement. Well done to both the children and their parents at home for their commitment over the 6 weeks.
Today was a very slimy day in our class. Our topic is Splish, splash, splosh and today we were exploring the difference between a liquid and a solid. We made magic slime that was once a solid and then turned into a liquid!! We were all amazed that if we poked the slime quickly with our finger it was solid but when we put our hand into it, it became a liquid!!
We had so much fun! We even had a bit of an explosion! 🤣 It’s a good job we have lots of helpers in our class who were at hand to help clean it up!
What a fun experiment!!
We have been busy learning about the different 3D shapes. Today we made some 3D shapes using marshmallows and cocktail sticks. We had to count how many sides/edges and vertices each shape has. We used the marshmallows for the vertices and the cocktail sticks for the edges.
What a fun morning! We even got to sample some marshmallows at the end too!! 😉😉
