Over the past few days the children have been learning about 2D shapes, we have been learning about the properties of these shapes. We have used several different shapes to make some tiles, have a look at the wonderful tiles we have made.
Well done to all of the boys and girls for their hard work making their wonderful egg creations. They were all fantastic but we had to choose some winners in each class. Samantha and Cherry from the kitchen had the very difficult job of choosing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class.
Well done to everyone for taking part.
Happy Easter :)

International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration. All around the world children and adults celebrate Dot Day to encourage people of all ages to harness their creativity. The inspiration behind the event is the children’s book ‘The Dot’ by Peter H. Reynolds. It relates the tale of a teacher who challenges one of her pupils to take courage in her abilities and “make a mark and see where it takes you.” 🎨
Y1/2 along with their friends in Y3/4 were inspired to collaborate on their own Dot project, and together the created the most beautiful wall display. ⭐️
Well done Mr Campbell class and Miss Moore’s class - you have definitely left your mark in APS. 👏🏻
This term our class will be looking at the topic 'People who help us'. Our class has identified that are lots of people that help us on a daily basis. These people include; Police Officers, Firefighters, Farmers, Teachers and loads more.
Today Mr Campbell asked the children in his year 3/4 class to become Police officers, but not just any police officers, they had to become detectives. The children had to crack codes and find where Mr Campbell had hidden his secret agents, their aim was to rescue them. The children had to work as a team to solve these problems.
Everyone cracked the codes and released the secret agents, Hooray!!
I wonder who will help us next?
Our school hockey team travelled to Foyle College for a localised blitz competition. On a bitterly cold morning the girls started with a very strong performance beating Culmore Primary School 5 nil. In our second game, the temperature was raised even further with another 5 nil win over Drumahoe Primary School. In our third game we played Limavady Central Primary School where a great team effort produced a four nil win. Our fourth and final game saw the girls produce their best team performance against a very strong Ebrington Primary School team, the girls fought well and came out 2 nil winners. A massive credit has to all girls as playing conditions were far from ideal. Well done girls.
