What wonderful artists we have in Year 6/7! Have a look at our ‘Harvest moon silhouettes!’
The children in Y 6/7 are really enjoying Accelerated reading. Have a look at the photos of them during AR time in class. We read for half an hour each day. Each child takes a quiz at the end of every book they’ve read and their progress is recorded.
If they get 100% in a quiz they get a stamp! If they get 4 stamps they get a free ticket for our Friday draw. They can also get a ticket for this for every 5 points they earn in AR each week.
Our weekly winners so far are Abigail, Emma, Adam D, Sarah-Jane, Megan O and Sam. Well done all !
Year 7 joined with their Year 1 buddies today to make chocolate apples! We had great fun!
A number of children have been working on progressing their phonics and reading skills through Headsprout, an online reading programme. Gerry, the headsprout leader has commented on the fantastic progress made by all of the children. The children were congratulated in assembly and presented with a certificate and a prize. Well done everyone!
Our year 7 children have had the opportunity to train in Heartstart, an emergency life support programme. This is such an important skill to have, well done to everyone and a big thank you to Laura for delivering the programme in school.
In our school the children have many opportunities to play a range of musical instruments. Darren came to school to distribute certificates to children who have achieved awards in playing the chanter. Well done to all of the children for their hard work and dedication.
