Today 53 children from nursery and P1/2 went on our class trip to The Playshed. The first excitement was when they realised they were going on a double decker bus. ๐ Firstly we got them all buckled in safely and ready for the road.
At The Playshed, we had lots of fun running around the soft play area. Even the adults had some fun too ๐๐. We then had some sausages/goujons and chips along with ice cream for dessert. ๐ฆ
We had time for some more play in the soft play frames before it was time to get on the bus and return to school. ๐
The children behaved exceptionally well and each of them had a very happy face all morning. Well done boys and girls on a super class trip! ๐
Five of our year five pupils visited the Guildhall 100 Square outdoor maths event. The children took part in engaging activities and interactive games to enhance their mathematical skills. They had lots of fun!
P1/2 had a great party on the pitch for their last day with Mr Henderson. Thank you Mr Henderson for being an amazing teacher in P/2 since September.
Thank you so much everyone who supported our school fun day. It was a lovely evening spent with our school families and local community. A huge thank you to everyone who helped out and made it all possible. Enjoy the photographs ๐ธ
All children in Nursery, P1 and P2 received a free book from Mr Linton, a recently retired GP. Mr Linton was unable to visit his two granddaughters in Scotland over lockdown and was encouraged by his wife to write stories to communicate to the girls. It proved to be a huge success and he decided to turn his first story into a book. He delivered a copy for each child in Nursery, P1 and P2 and if anyone would like to make a donation to the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice Mr Linton would be very grateful. We hope you all enjoy this book ๐
Thank you so much to Clayton from Fulton’s Pumpkin Patch for our pumpkin plants. These are a lovely addition to our new Pollinator Garden. We hope to see lovely pumpkins by Halloween ๐
A huge congratulations goes to Danny, Daisy and Katie who have now read one million words in Accelerated Reading. A special mention goes to Bethany who has now read two million words. Well done everyone, keep up the reading and enjoy your treats!
We are so proud of our new outdoor learning area hidden at the back of school and nursery. Today Lord Lieutenant for Co. Tyrone Mr Robert Scott officially opened our new pollinator garden and outdoor learning area. Mr Scott also planted a tree to mark the Coronation of King Charles.
This area was funded by Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful Live Here Love Here School Pollinator Garden grant scheme.
We hope to have many years of fun in this new area and would like to thank everyone who made it happen and thank everyone who visited today. ๐ชด
Thank you so much to everyone who sent in plastic lids (especially to the family who sourced lots and lots of lids). We now have five boxes ready to be collected tomorrow. Keep sending in any plastic lids you have at home.
Every Thursday, year 5s will be taking part in Badminton in Artigarvan Hall. Last Thursday, George - our instructor - taught us how to hold our rackets properly and taught us how to serve. We all really enjoyed it and are looking forward to learning more this week!
