In our school the children have many opportunities to play a range of musical instruments. Darren came to school to distribute certificates to children who have achieved awards in playing the chanter. Well done to all of the children for their hard work and dedication.
Today Year 5/6 had a little party to say a huge THANK YOU to Baby Ralph and Victoria for visiting our class since September. We loved watching Baby Ralph grow and develop and we have learnt lots of new things. We hope Baby Ralph will visit Artigarvan P.S sometime again in the future. Thank you from us all!
We have been having so much fun learning all about capacity this week. We have done lots of practical activities indoors and outdoors every day this week. Including board games, sorting and ordering, estimating and measuring, capacity puddles and interactive games. Just look at what we’ve been doing :)
As a special treat for being such a fantastic class P5/6 went on an egg hunt this afternoon.
It was great fun!
This week we have been learning all about length. In groups we went outside to draw snakes, ladders, trains and people at two different lengths. Once we done this we worked together to work out the difference between the two lengths.
We have all really enjoyed our topic this term all about bridges. This week we learnt all about the forces that make a bridge so strong - compression and tension. We done lots of fun practical activities to see just how these forces work.
Our class has been so busy and we are so lucky to be involved in so many exciting events. Two lovely lads from the Nerve centre came to deliver an animation workshop with our class. We used the apps green screen and iMovie to create our own dumbo movie. It was such fun and we learnt loads. We were at an advantage from our last animation workshop and remembered lots of what we learnt and were able to apply it to this workshop.
Lucy visited our school and went round all the classrooms delivering a super fun workshop tailored to each age group. From food detectives, fit factor and smoke busters, to staying safe in the sun, she really did do a great job of covering it all. Staff and children learnt all about looking after their own health in school and at home.
check out our own crazy scientist!
On Tuesday it was our last day with the sweet project. We had a lovely celebration day where we showed off our boxercise skills and received certificates and prizes.
Everyone really enjoyed this experience and we are very lucky to have been part of it.
