Years 5, 6 and 7 had a really lovely visit from parliament yesterday.  Fiona was very informative and told us lots of fun facts.  We learnt about what a democracy is, what MPs do, how to be an active citizen and different laws in our country.

The boys and girls enjoyed coming into school today in their pyjamas and odd socks to support anti bullying week.  We took part in fun activities throughout the week.  Today we watched a lovely video by Disney Pixar called ‘Lou’ which portrayed a very important message about bullies.  This sparked a lot of discussion between the children.

We had a very busy week this week in our class but still managed to squeeze in some fun maths activities to celebrate Maths week Ireland. We learnt lots of information out about Mrs McClelland when she gave us a range of different sums to work out which gave us answers about different parts of her life.  We then got to do the same.  We made ‘Figure me out’ posters for our classmates to work out.  Can you spot anyone from their posters?

On Friday we went around our school on a maths trail.  We had to answer a range of different questions which involved looking at number plates outside, looking at vent diagrams and asking other members of staff for information.  We then got letters which spelt out ARTIGARVAN ROCKS! The boys and girls had great fun!

All the boys and girls had so much fun at the farm today.  A massive thank you to Annie and Vinnie for a great, educational and enjoyable day.

Butterlope Farm is mainly a hill sheep farm with a variety of breeds but they also have calves, laying hens and sheep dogs.   A kitchen garden and large polytunnel allows a large variety of vegetables to be grown for the family and farm helpers.  The boys and girls enjoyed eating some of the grapes!

Check out all our amazing photos!
